In 2020 Futurespace completed a new interior for Aware Super's head office at 388 George Street, Sydney. The design placed an emphasis on working with Australian collections, including SP01’s Caristo armchairs, a reinterpretation of the wingback chair. The high-back version of the Caristo armchair deigned by Tim Rundle, is finished in a soft custom coloured leather, with the outer shell in stained Ash. These sculptural chairs blend beautifully with the pink, flesh, and maroon tones used throughout.
Futurespace focused on human centred design for this project, juxtaposing the brand’s company colours with Bauhaus elements in vibrant, geometric shapes. “Touch screens, digital artwork and branding all combine to create an immersive environment for a variety of experiences and engagement with the fund’s members,” Futurespace said.
A striking interior that spans nearly 9,400 square metres and stretches over 7 floors, there is ample space for collaborative areas, private workspaces and client boardrooms in Aware Super's refreshed headquarters.
Previously known as First State Super, the immersive design is an ideal focal point for a new chapter for the superannuation organisation, which brought together two parts of the organisation into a shared space to help enhance organisational culture.
